Winter Sun

I look out into the cold wastes: I am chilled to the bone. The flickering sun, my only comfort, Fails even to bring me warmth. Looking into desolation, I wonder When the passionate scene will come To melt the frozen ice, But night is now upon me. The sun's short-lived beauty Wanes on the horizon Like lost hope. With darkness in my company I wait for another day. |
